Cat skin problems and cat skin conditions are notoriously difficult to deal with. So I wanted to make my recommendation to help a fellow cat owner from going through the same trauma.

I have since done some research to try to understand why the aloe works so well.  As a cat scratches, it removes the waxy outer layer of the skin. This can cause skin infections as the bacteria can get to the skin. I applied the gelly three times a day.  Aloe gelly is  anti inflammatory and also anti- bacterial which makes for  softer less itchy skin and it’s less likely to get infected.

I would recommend using aloe vera gelly for  cat minor skin rashes, cat skin infections and cat skin disorders.  By far the best on the market I have used is the Aloe Vera Gelly from Forever Living- more expensive than most but a lot cheaper than a trip to the vets.

I do stress though I am talking about minor  cat skin problems anything more serious or menacing should be dealt with by a vet.

I’ve told you about Penfold’s cat skin problems and the Aloe Vera Gelly worked a treat. It must have stopped itching because she let me put the gelly on and stopped scratching after a while – I just kept dabbing it on every so often and she was fine. Occasionally it would look sore again but the gelly kept working.

I found it useful to have around for Flanigan but for  a very different reason. Despite her tiny stature, she seems to take on things much bigger than her and frequently comes home with scratches, a split ear or a scuffed nose. The gelly clears these up quite efficiently as well. She did have a cat skin rash once due to a dose of fleas I think. We soon got it sorted with the gelly.

Why am I writing about cat itchy skin, because I’m a cat lover with two beautiful cats who I love dearly.

Both females but that is where any similarities end- had I known I could have called them chalk and
cheese.

Penfold is number one cat, I mean she arrived first, is the soppiest. Happiest on someones lap or a quiet sunny space. Unhappiest at the prospect of a visit to the vets. Which is stressful for everyone involved.

Flanagan, number two cat is tiny with a lion heart- incredibly gentle but always looking for the next big adventure. Penfold snores in the sun, Flanagan is hiding in a tree, stalking her next victim.

Anyway to get back to the point-cat itchy skin- just a small patch on Penfold’s back. That she licked and scratched, obviously it irritated her and so brought on a succession of trips to the vet to get it sorted. Neither of us looked forward to them for very different reasons she got the hump and I got the bill.

We never did find out what was causing the skin problem but I did find something that worked – Aloe Vera Gelly.
